Masking Requirements
While California has lifted its mask mandate for most indoor establishments, guidance from the California Department of Public Health states that face coverings are still required in health care settings, including dental offices, regardless of an individual's vaccination status. We thank you for your cooperation and support in providing a safe environment for our patients and the dental team.
Our community has been through a lot since the start of the pandemic in 2020. All of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued and to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agency's recommendations.
We have added some safety controls on top of our normal procedures for added precaution and want to make sure you know what to expect when you see us. Please make a note of the following changes to ensure everyone’s safety:
As more people are getting the COVID-19 vaccines, we will continue to screen all patients and staff, including those who are fully vaccinated, for COVID-19. We will continue to follow other Cal/OSHA regulations on COVID-19 prevention, such as using proper PPE and requiring that patients wear masks and maintain social distance. COVID-19 prevention regulations apply to fully vaccinated dental patients and staff until Cal/OSHA amends regulations.
As we start 2022 with the current surge in COVID-19 cases, our office remains committed to keeping business open during this period. Our staff are fully vaccinated and have already received booster shots. At our practice, health and safety measures are continuing to be implemented, such as stand-alone air purification systems throughout the office, access to frequent handwashing or hand sanitizer, increased disinfecting practices and protocols, and staff wearing proper PPE, including masks (KN95) while indoors. Indoor masking is required for all our patients. Our patients are screened upon entry, have temperature taken, and rinsed with hydrogen peroxide solution prior to being seated for their appointment.
Together, we are making a difference and providing the healthiest and safest working environment possible for our staff and patients.
We are looking forward to seeing you back in 2022!
